Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Step 1 - Find the total number of patients admitted across all four hospitals (A, B, C and D), for every disease.

Viral disease = 30 + 15 + 35 + 10 = 90

Heart disease = 35 + 10 + 30 + 10 = 85

Kidney disease = 15 + 5 + 15 + 5 = 40

Liver disease = 10 + 5 + 5 + 15 = 35

Total patients admitted = 90 + 85 + 40 + 35 = 250.

Step 2 - Compute the required percentage. (The bed counts in brackets are not needed for this question.)

Percentage of Liver disease patients = (Liver patients / Total patients) x 100 = (35 / 250) x 100 = 14%.

Hence, the percentage of Liver disease patients admitted across all the hospitals is 14%.
