Concept

The NCERT/NCF position paper on Teaching of Social Sciences assigns a distinct pedagogical focus to each discipline. Geography teaching is meant to build a spatial and ecological perspective in learners — an understanding of resources and their conservation, of developmental issues (including displacement caused by projects such as dams and mines), and of human development as a measure of progress. Fostering awareness of unity amid social diversity is instead treated as a core objective of History and Civics/Political Science teaching, not of Geography.

Application

Matching the four listed issues against this framework: Resources and Conservation and Human Development are both explicit geography-teaching perspectives, and Development and Displacement (the human cost of resource-use decisions, such as families displaced by a dam or mining project) is equally central to how geography is meant to be taught. Challenges to Unity in Diversity does not belong to this set — it is the kind of concern geography teaching is not framed around.
