Frequently Asked Questions

The GATE score is derived from a candidate's performance in the examination and is different from raw marks. The score reflects relative performance and helps institutions compare candidates fairly during admissions and recruitment processes.

A GATE score remains valid for three years from the date of result declaration. During this period, candidates can use their score for admissions, scholarships, and various opportunities where a valid GATE score is accepted.

Some common mistakes include ignoring weaker subjects, focusing only on theory, skipping revision, avoiding mock tests, and not analyzing mistakes. Preparation becomes much more effective when students regularly review their performance and work on specific areas of improvement.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Candidates can appear for the examination multiple times as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria applicable for that particular year.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering — a national-level exam conducted by IISc and the IITs; the CS & IT paper is widely used for M.Tech admissions, PSU recruitment, and research.

The Goal Slider allows you to set your target and automatically personalizes your learning plan. Based on your goal, the platform adjusts the number of lessons, practice questions, and difficulty level, helping you prepare more efficiently.

Paper I evaluates candidates on General Knowledge & Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and English Language. These sections assess a candidate's aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

Paper II focuses on professional Computer Science knowledge. It tests candidates on core technical subjects relevant to Computer Science and Information Technology, making technical preparation an essential part of the recruitment process.

A balanced approach works best. Understanding theory is essential, but applying those concepts through questions helps strengthen retention and exam readiness. Many aspirants find it helpful to study a topic and immediately solve related problems before moving ahead.

KnowledgeGate AI is an AI-powered learning platform designed for Computer Science students preparing for competitive exams, placements, and career growth.
