The Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory) at Chittorgarh Fort was originally built by Maharana Kumbha (around 1448 CE) to commemorate his victory over Mahmud Khilji of Malwa.
Centuries later, the upper portion of the tower was damaged when it was struck by lightning. This broken part was rebuilt and the tower restored by Maharana Swarupsingh of Mewar (Udaipur) in the 19th century.
Therefore, the broken part of the tower was rebuilt by Rana Swarupsingh.
