SBI SO Cutoffs: Check Corrections and Build a Practice Target
A cutoff becomes useful only when its post, category and score basis match your comparison. Work through a real SBI correction and a hypothetical target-setting exercise to plan your next mocks.

A score labelled “SBI SO cutoff” tells you little until its post, category and selection stage are clear. Before turning that number into a target, check whether it belongs in your comparison at all. Here is how to check comparability, recognise corrected data and build a practice buffer.
Identify which SBI SO cutoff you actually need
Start with a comparison key: advertisement or recruitment cycle, exact post, specialism, category, selection stage, maximum marks, score basis and notice version. A missing detail can change what the score means.
Depending on the notification, minimum qualifying marks may define a requirement for proceeding, a shortlisting threshold may determine consideration for the next stage, and a final selection cutoff may relate to the final merit list. These serve different purposes.
Compare “Assistant Manager (Engineer-Electrical)” versus “Assistant Manager (System)”. Each post needs its own sheet, with subjects, score scale and selection stages taken from its matching advertisement.
Use SBI SO eligibility and selection process for background on identifying your route. The relevant official advertisement governs application decisions.
Build a comparable cutoff sheet from the corrected row
Create columns for advertisement, post, category, stage, maximum marks, raw/normalised/weighted basis, cutoff, official notice date and correction checked. Enter an unknown field as “not verified”, never zero. Keep the source beside the entry so that you can revisit it.
Start with the SC row in the SBI corrigendum linked below. Enter advertisement CRPD/SCO/2024-25/18, post Assistant Manager (Engineer-Electrical), category SC, corrected cutoff 65.80 and notice date 23 June 2025. Put the earlier display of 64.00 in the correction note. Keep OBC's 68.00 in a separate category row.
The notice gives the cutoff without a maximum. Leave that field, the stage and score basis marked “not verified” until the matching recruitment documents supply them. This makes the next task clear: complete those fields before comparing the row with a mock score. For a later cycle, check the same post, category, stage and scale before adding another row.
The Banking & Insurance preparation options help distinguish course choices once you have identified your recruitment route.
A real SBI correction shows why the notice version matters
The SBI corrigendum dated 23 June 2025, for advertisement CRPD/SCO/2024-25/18, corrected the displayed cutoff for Assistant Manager (Engineer-Electrical). It refers to the advertisement dated 22 November 2024 and the result published on 14 May 2025.
Category | Erroneous display | Corrected cutoff | Correction |
|---|---|---|---|
SC | 64.00 | 65.80 | +1.80 |
OBC | 64.00 | 68.00 | +4.00 |
Check the differences: 65.80 − 64.00 = 1.80 and 68.00 − 64.00 = 4.00.
Record each corrected figure as the usable entry for this recruitment. Retain the earlier display only as a correction note, so that a subsequent lookup of the old result does not overwrite your corrected row.
Turn a valid benchmark into a provisional practice target
Hypothetical planning exercise: All benchmarks, allowances, mock scores and qualifying conditions in the next three sections are invented for practice planning.
Assume three genuinely comparable historical thresholds on the same 100-point practice scale: cycle A = 58, cycle B = 61 and cycle C = 60.
Highest comparable benchmark = max(58, 61, 60) = 61.
Choose an illustrative uncertainty allowance of 4 marks: 61 + 4 = 65.
Add a personal bad-day allowance of 3 marks: 65 + 3 = 68.
The provisional target is therefore 68/100. The allowances are planning choices. Choose your own using evidence about score variation and preparation gaps, and record why you chose them.
For your own sheet, use a historical benchmark once its comparison fields are complete. While those fields remain unresolved, set a practice milestone using your mock results and track progress on that scale.
Test the target against your weaker mocks
Continue on the same 100-point scale. Five timed mock scores, in order, are 62, 66, 64, 67 and 65. Sort them to get 62, 64, 65, 66, 67.
The middle score, or median, is 65. The minimum is 62, and the range is 67 − 62 = 5 marks. Against the target of 68, the median gap is 68 − 65 = 3 marks; the weakest-mock gap is 68 − 62 = 6 marks.
Looking only at your best score of 67 overstates readiness. Track the median and weaker performances across mocks with similar blueprints, difficulty and timing.
Now audit a separate recoverable-loss log: 3 concept marks + 2 careless-error marks + 1 time-management mark = 6 marks. Start with the concept errors. Rework those questions, then check the same concepts in a fresh timed set.
Keep qualifying requirements separate from the total target
Suppose the mock's practice conditions require section X ≥10 and section Y ≥10. You score X = 9, Y = 15 and 46 in the remaining component.
Your total is 9 + 15 + 46 = 70. Although 70 > 68, section X misses its assumed threshold by 10 − 9 = 1 mark. The total target is met, but the section requirement is not.
Where your recruitment notice provides qualifying components, interview conditions or separate merit weights, track each independently. List each requirement beside its own result and mark whether it is met. For posts selected through shortlisting and interview, organise the sheet around those stages.
Set this week's target and verify the source again
Make three entries in your preparation plan:
Confirm your comparison key using the SBI recruitment results page, the matching advertisement and any corrigenda.
Enter your last five comparable mocks, including the median and weakest score.
Work on the largest recoverable error category, then reassess after two more mocks. Keep 68 provisional in this exercise.

A published cutoff records an official historical result; keep your practice target adjustable as your mock results change.
