A recognised degree, State-language fluency and computer use may sound sufficient. IBPS checks three separate evidence trails. The vacancy most people search as “IBPS Clerk” is advertised as Customer Service Associate (CSA), and its rules were last set out in the CRP CSA XV notification. Work all three trails against your own papers before you pay the form fee, then confirm the newest notice.

IBPS Clerk now appears as Customer Service Associate

“IBPS Clerk” and CSA are one application. CSA is the notice label; Clerk is the common search name.

The official IBPS website (www.ibps.in) carries current notices. IBPS set the dates and document rules for the last cycle in the CRP CSA XV detailed notification, so recheck the cutoffs and the Annexure III list in whichever notice is live when you apply. Once eligibility is settled, the KnowledgeGate Banking & Insurance category is where the preparation material sits.

Graduation check: degree, result date and proof

In the CRP CSA XV detailed notification, IBPS specified a degree in any discipline from a Government-recognised university, or an equivalent Central Government-recognised qualification. Registration required a valid mark sheet or degree certificate and the graduation percentage. It stated no minimum percentage.

Priya’s B.A. result and provisional certificate are dated 18.08.2025, and she registered on 20.08.2025. Her result came three days before the CSA XV cutoff of 21.08.2025, so the timing passes.

Aman finished his B.Com final examinations in July 2025, but his result was declared on 24.08.2025. That is three days after the cutoff, so he fails this date check. Finishing examinations earlier does not replace a declared result.

The mark sheet or provisional certificate date, with university result-declaration evidence if needed, is decisive. “Final year” alone proves nothing. Special ex-servicemen routes have separate official clauses.

Local-language check: four skills, one opted language and LLPT

In the CRP CSA XV detailed notification, IBPS required State or UT applicants to read, write, speak and understand one language from its Annexure III list. Maharashtra listed Marathi; Uttar Pradesh listed Hindi or Urdu. IBPS re-issues that Annexure every cycle, so read the list attached to the notice you are applying under.

Priya also has to clear the language gate. She applies for Uttar Pradesh and opts for Hindi, so she needs all four skills. Hindi on her Class X mark sheet gives her the CSA XV documentary exemption from the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).

Farah applies for Maharashtra and opts for Marathi. Without Class X-or-above proof of Marathi, she must qualify its LLPT. In CSA XV, this marks-based qualifying test came after the online main examination or provisional allotment but before joining. Failure meant no appointment and disqualification. Check the newest annexure and test terms.

Computer-literacy check: match ability to a document

In the CRP CSA XV detailed notification, operating and working knowledge of computer systems was mandatory. Evidence could be a certificate, diploma or degree in computer operations or computer language, or Computer or Information Technology studied in High School, College or an Institute.

Three routes and their evidence are:

  • Recognised B.Sc. Computer Science degree: degree route.

  • “Information Technology” on a B.A. graduate’s Class XII mark sheet: subject route.

  • “Computer Operations” certificate held by a B.Com graduate: certificate route.

Neha uses email and spreadsheets but has no Computer or IT subject, certificate, diploma or degree. Ability alone does not match a CSA XV document route. Ask IBPS about an ambiguous course title.

Work all three gates through four candidates

One failed gate ends the application, so read each row across before reading its outcome.

Candidate

Graduation evidence

State/language evidence

Computer evidence

Outcome under CRP CSA XV

Priya

B.A. result and provisional certificate, 18.08.2025

Uttar Pradesh; Hindi on Class X mark sheet

Class XII Information Technology

All checks pass; LLPT exempt

Aman

B.Com result, 24.08.2025

Hindi on Class X mark sheet

Computer Operations certificate

Language and computer pass, but result misses 21.08.2025 cutoff; no for this cycle

Farah

B.Sc. result, 10.07.2025

Maharashtra; Marathi opted, no Class X-or-above proof

Diploma in Computer Operations

Degree and computer pass; Marathi LLPT required before joining

Neha

B.A. result, 01.07.2025

Marathi on Class X mark sheet for Maharashtra

No listed Computer or IT proof

Degree and language pass; computer evidence missing

Flowchart of three eligibility gates: result declared by 21.08.2025, Class X language proof, computer document. Priya clears all three; Farah needs the LLPT; Neha lacks computer proof; Aman stops at gate one.

Build the document folder before submitting the form

Prepare three packets:

  1. Graduation mark sheets, degree or provisional certificate, and result-declaration evidence if needed.

  2. Class X-or-above proof of the opted local language, or an LLPT plan.

  3. The certificate, diploma, degree or mark sheet proving computer literacy.

CSA XV’s verification list sought graduation records, cutoff-date result proof and Class X-or-above language evidence where applicable. You will still need the identity, category and joining documents that the notification lists separately.

Priya should confirm “18.08.2025” on her provisional evidence, “Hindi” on the Class X mark sheet and “Information Technology” on the Class XII mark sheet. A coaching note or self-declaration cannot replace an IBPS document route.

IBPS Clerk eligibility in three questions, and your next step

Ask yourself three questions:

  1. Was my recognised graduation result declared by this cycle’s cutoff?

  2. Can I prove the opted State or UT language at Class X or above, or am I ready to pass the LLPT?

  3. Which exact document proves my computer literacy?

If any answer is uncertain, return to the newest CSA notification before payment or submission. While waiting, use A banking exam preparation plan that works whatever the calendar. Bank PO Prelims vs Mains: how to split your preparation covers how prelims and mains differ in what each one demands.

KnowledgeGate does not run a CSA-specific course, so Clerk preparation starts from the banking and insurance material. If you are also targeting the PO route, the IBPS PO Prelims Preparation Course covers that paper end to end.
