The Vande Bharat Mission refers to

Concept: During the COVID-19 pandemic, most scheduled international commercial flights were suspended in 2020, leaving large numbers of Indian citizens — students, workers, tourists, and other nationals — stranded overseas with no way to return home.

Application: To address this, the Government of India (Ministry of Civil Aviation together with the Ministry of External Affairs) launched the Vande Bharat Mission on 7 May 2020. Under this mission, special flights operated by Air India and other carriers, along with naval ships, were deployed in phases to repatriate stranded Indian nationals from countries across the world back to India.
