The 'Sagar Parikrama' (Phase-I) program was inaugurated at which State?

Concept

'Sagar Parikrama' is a coastal outreach initiative of the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, conducted in phases. Each phase travels along the coastline of one or more maritime regions to connect with fishers, fish-farmers and coastal stakeholders and to spread awareness of government schemes (PMMSY, KCC, etc.). Locating a phase therefore means identifying the coastal stretch where that particular leg of the yatra began.

Application

Phase-I of Sagar Parikrama was flagged off on 5 March 2022. It travelled along the Gujarat coastline — beginning at Mandvi (in Kutch) and proceeding to Porbandar. Because the launch point and the entire covered stretch lie on the Gujarat coast, the State of inauguration is Gujarat.
