Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Solution

The correct answer is Option 4, i.e. ‘Although Falguni had been invited by Harshita, she did not come’.

Explanation

The given sentence is in the Active voice,

As the form of the verb ('had invited’) shows that its subject (‘Harshita’) did something and was ‘active’.

Therefore, it has to be changed to the Passive voice, where something was done by the subject, and it was ‘passive’.

In order to do that,

The object of the verb in the Active voice should become the subject of the verb in the Passive voice (‘although Falguni’ becomes the subject in place of ‘although Harshita’).

The verb should be changed from the Active voice to the Passive voice; had invited becomes had been invited (passive voice used 'be' form + V3 form of the verb.)

Thus, the same sentence in the Passive voice is: Although Falguni had been invited by Harshita, she did not come.
