Correct answer: B

The southwest monsoon advances over the Indian mainland from south to north. It first strikes the Kerala coast, then sweeps north and northwest, reaching the arid northwest of the country last.

Normal dates of onset: Kerala around 1 June; West Bengal (Bay of Bengal branch) by about the second week of June; Uttar Pradesh by about the third to fourth week of June; Rajasthan, in the far northwest, only around the first half of July.

So in ascending order of onset date (earliest first): Kerala (3) → West Bengal (2) → Uttar Pradesh (1) → Rajasthan (4), i.e. 3 – 2 – 1 – 4.
