Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: A
Solution: 1
All sentences other than C talk about incidents following the INC’s win. Hence, all the other sentences should be first preceded by sentence C which mentions the INC’s win in general elections. After establishing INC’s win in the first sentence, the next sentence should logically carry forward the incidents that happened. In keeping with the sequence of events, sentence E talks about the incident that happened right after their win. Hence, sentence E should be the second sentence. Sentence F seems correct to be the third sentence because it tells about a case being registered against Indira Gandhi. All other options talk about the aftermath of the case. The verdict of the court should follow as the fourth sentence which is done in A. The punishment meted out as a result of being found guilty is D and B. B uses the word ‘also’ which shows that it is a sentence which must succeed D. Thus, D is the fifth sentence and B is the sixth sentence.
The correct order is CEFADB.
The second sentence is E.
