Weight of third package = 500 + 45% of 500 kg
= 500 + 45/100 × 500
= 500 + 225
= 725
Weight of second package = 725kg + 50% of 725
= 725 + 725 × 50/100
= 725 + 362.5

Weight of fourth package = 360kg
We are given that weight of fourth package =40%of weight of 5 th package
Hence 360 = 40/100 × weight of fifth package
Weight of fifth package = 360 × 100/40
