Panna Dhai is one of the most revered figures in the history of Mewar. She saved the life of Prince Udai Singh (later Maharana Udai Singh II) when Banvir attempted to kill him to capture the throne of Mewar. Panna Dhai sacrificed her own son by placing him in Udai Singh's bed, allowing the prince to escape safely.
Her sacrifice ensured the continuation of the Sisodia dynasty, and Udai Singh later became the ruler of Mewar and founded the city of Udaipur.
