Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are carbon-containing compounds that easily evaporate into air. Some VOCs are harmful and may cause cancer or other serious health effects. In the atmosphere, reactive VOCs can combine with nitrogen oxides in the presence of sunlight and contribute to ground-level ozone and photochemical smog. Acid rain, however, is mainly caused by sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides, not VOCs. Hence only statements ii and iii are correct.
