(2) Number of American hotcakes sold is always greater than the number of Cornmeal hotcakes sold
If the number of cornmeal hotcakes sold by bakery B on Tuesday (that is, the next day) is 20% more than that on Monday, the ratio of the number of American hotcakes to Swedish hotcakes by bakery B on Tuesday is 4:5. and the number of American hotcakes sold by bakery B on Tuesday is 320, then what is the total number of hotcakes sold by bakery B on Tuesday?

Correct answer: A

From the table, Bakery B sold 280 Cornmeal hotcakes on Monday.
A 20% increase means the number sold on Tuesday is 280 × 1.2 = 336.
The number of American hotcakes sold on Tuesday is given as 320, and the ratio of American to Swedish hotcakes is 4:5.
This means for every 4 parts American, there are 5 parts Swedish. Since 320 corresponds to 4 parts, each part is 80 (320 ÷ 4).
Therefore, Swedish hotcakes sold are 5 × 80 = 400.
The total number of hotcakes sold is the sum: American (320) + Cornmeal (336) + Swedish (400) = 1056.
