Total monthly salary of a couple (husband and wife) is Rs. 2.0 lakh. Their salaries are in the ratio of 5 : 3. If husband and wife spend 40 % and 20 % of their salaries, respectively, what is the ratio of their savings ?

Let husband’s salary = 5x
Let wife’s salary = 3x
Husband spends 40% of his salary.
So, husband saves 60% of his salary.

Wife spends 20% of her salary.
So, wife saves 80% of her salary.
Wife’s saving = 80% of 3x = 2.4x
