Concept: In a circular arrangement, "opposite" means half the seats away — with six seats, three seats away. Under the standard convention that the items face the centre of the table, the clockwise direction runs to a seat's left and the anticlockwise direction to its right, so "second to the left" means two seats onward in the clockwise direction. A separation clue of the form "one item between X and Y" constrains the pair jointly and never says which of the two takes which seat.
