Barkhans (Barchans) are crescent-shaped sand dunes formed by the action of wind in desert regions where sand supply is limited and wind direction remains fairly constant.

Characteristics:

Crescent or moon-shaped dunes
Horns point in the direction of wind movement
Commonly found in deserts such as the Thar Desert
