Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: B
Let the number of eligible men be x and eligible women be 300 - x.
Amount paid to men = x * 750 * 8/9 = x * 2000/3.
Amount paid to women = (300 - x) * 1000 * 2/3 = (300 - x) * 2000/3.
Since 750*(8/9) = 1000*(2/3) = 2000/3, both per-claim amounts are equal. Therefore total paid = x*(2000/3) + (300 - x)*(2000/3) = 300*(2000/3) = 200000.
