Software Development Intern (Frontend / Backend / Android / iOS / ML)
Job Description
Build at the cutting edge on a platform used by 500,000+ students. KnowledgeGate AI is a profitable ed-tech company that owns its entire technology stack — no off-the-shelf LMS, no Salesforce, no Zendesk, no OpenAI invoice. We even run our own self-hosted, vision-capable AI on our own fleet of Apple Silicon servers: it answers student doubts, grades written answers, and summarizes thousands of lecture videos in production every single day. Here, AI is the operating model, not a feature bolted on the side. This is a 3-month internship with a strong shot at a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO), and we'd love for you to start immediately. You'll work directly with the founders and a small, senior team — and ship real code to real users from week one. We're hiring across Frontend, Backend, Android, iOS, and ML: pick where you're strongest, and you'll get to wander into the rest. The stack is modern, end to end: TypeScript everywhere, Next.js 16 + React 19 on the web, Node + Express + MongoDB + Redis on the backend, Kotlin + Media3 on Android, and Python with CatBoost/PyTorch for ML — all running on Kubernetes with observability we built ourselves. If you want to learn how a real product is built, scaled, and run end to end — and own meaningful parts of it — this is the place. Fully remote · Full-time for the duration · Competitive stipend · Immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Frontend — ship student-facing features in Next.js 16 + React 19 with TypeScript, Tailwind, and end-to-end-typed APIs (oRPC).
- Backend — design APIs and data models on Node, Express, MongoDB and Redis that power payments, video, and community at scale.
- Android — build on our native Kotlin app: DRM-protected video (Media3/ExoPlayer), notifications, and offline.
- iOS — be the founding engineer for our iOS app and build it from the ground up.
- ML / AI — train and ship models that run on our own servers: the doubt-answering LLM, rank prediction (CatBoost/LightGBM), lead scoring, and video understanding.
Requirements
- Pursuing or recently finished a degree in CS/IT or related — or able to out-build the requirement.
- Strong programming fundamentals and a real love for building things.
- Hands-on in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift, or Python.
- Curious about AI and excited to work close to production systems.
- Available to start immediately for a full-time, 3-month remote internship.
- Bonus: projects, open-source, or anything you've shipped and are proud of.
